Demand for cargo transportation is expected to decrease due to the introduction of tariffs and a weakening of the manufacturing sector.

According to Uber Freight's forecast for the second quarter of 2025, a 1% increase in fares could reduce demand by 0.15% or more.

Dan Crook, an analyst at AT iQ, noted that refrigerated cargo carriers are experiencing a "soft" market for the second year in a row, while rates for refrigerated transportation are lagging behind the level of 2023.

He also described the state of the cargo transportation market as "flat", pointing to the negative dynamics in domestic production.

Last year proved to be financially difficult for freight carriers. Crook also said that the current year will not be different for the better.
