The FMCSA has removed five electronic recorders (ELD) from the list of approved devices for non-compliance with minimum standards. 

These include PREMIUM ELD, TRUE LOGBOOK, Xplore ELD, KAMI ELD, and EVO ELD 1. 

Drivers and companies using these devices need to switch to paper magazines or time management software by December 16, 2025. After this date, the use of cancelled ELD will be considered the absence of a registrar, and drivers will be taken out of work with a fine.

 The FMCSA recommends replacing the devices with approved ones from the ELD registered list before the deadline. If manufacturers fix the flaws, the devices can be returned to the list, but carriers are advised to act immediately to avoid problems with compliance with the rules.
